Information and Knowledge Integration Project

As the level of globalization in a variety of social and economic areas increases, global information infrastructures, such as the World Wide Web or enterprise-wide networks, become increasingly important. One of the key issues in the use of these infrastructures is the ability to combine information from different sources in meaningful ways.

The main aim of this project is to advance the state of the art of information and knowledge integration through the use of methods from knowledge representation and reasoning, and to study the application of the new methods in the areas of electronic commerce and enterprise knowledge management.
